Stuart Park Primary School is a large urban primary school located about three kilometres from Darwin city. The student population is currently 470 which includes 17 primary and 3 pre-school classes. Stuart Park School is in part multigenerational in as much as many of our parents were students of yesteryear. Our community is made up of families from forty ethnic backgrounds.

The school is one of the oldest in Darwin, and celebrated its 40th birthday a couple of years ago. It underwent extensive upgrades just under ten years ago. The buildings are well maintained amid thoughtfully set out gardens, some of which are in the process of being revamped.

We have close partnerships with our school community. A new initiative relates to sustainability: council, teachers and students are working together for a sustainable future. We are changing the nature of the way we physically manage our school. The first step is to look at how to reduce, reuse and recycle our rubbish: recycling paper and cardboard and reusing organic matter for compost.
